Corn-cob:
Corn cob granules are excellent choice for surface-friendly cleaning. It can be used for the grinding and polishing cleaning of metals, timber products, fiberglass products, plastics, masonry structures and electrical insulation components. The blasting material made of the cortical part of corn-cobs is characterized by high hardness and bulk density, good absorbency and excellent flowing ability.
It has Mohs hardness rating of 4.5, placing in the middle of the range, still it is efficient and safe to use for the surface-friendly cleaning of various materials and equipment without causing damages. It does not damage the surface, and has no abrasive effect. It removes deposited dirt. Due to its good absorbency, it increases cleaning efficiency. When cleaning with vegetable granules, glass surfaces do not need to be covered either. It is an excellent choice for cleaning the façades of historical buildings: it does not damage the surface, but cleans it from deposited dust, dirt, oils, and also removes any paint peeled off.

Any conventional sandblasting equipment can be used for the blasting of corn-cob granules.
When choosing the right granule size, the point to consider is that the larger the grain size, the stronger its cleaning effect is.
